2 Cor 9:8 (NIV)
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.
During this prayer and fasting, I was looking for a verse to share to my family and friends. I stumbled upon this verse where I feel I want to keep for the whole year… if not, for life.
My favorite version is from NLT
2 Cor 9:8 (NLT)
And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.
This verse gave me something to look forward to this year.
I want to do something great this year. Not good, but great. I want to do something feasible, in other words, possible.
Prior to this verse, it talked about how we should be a giver, willing and cheerful. I ask myself, am I always willing when I give? Cheerful with the whole process?
Out of 100%, if I have to be honest to myself, I think I’m a 50% or less. I mean I give, but not really give give (If you know what I mean? =P ). “Giving” is something hard to do. I don’t earn much. Just enough I guess =) I’m sure some, if not all can relate to what I’m saying. At time’s we would expect something in return… right? I know I do… sometimes.. =P
I know people who loves giving, leaving me to wonder how do they do it? A part of me want to be like them but how can I if I have nothing to offer?
Why I want to claim this verse? To receive abundantly and beyond is one thing (well to earn more than what I have would be great) but it’s also to genuinely experience what my friends really feel when they give, expecting nothing in return but give!
This year, not only shall I be a receiver, I want to be a giver.
I praise you Lord coz you have been a blessing. Bless me O Lord, so that I may be a blessing.
