Taken from a 6-year old blog entry which was taken off a bulletin from Friendster:

1. The nice men are ugly.

2. The handsome men are not nice.

3. The handsome and nice men are gay.

4. The handsome, nice, and heterosexual men are married.

5. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men, have no money.

6. The men who are not so handsome, but are nice men with money think we are only after their money.

7. The handsome men without money are after our money.

8. The handsome men, who are not so nice and somewhat heterosexual, don’t think we are beautiful enough.

9. The men who think we are beautiful, that are heterosexual, somewhat nice and have no money, are cowards.

10. The men who are somewhat handsome, somewhat nice and have money and thank God are straight, are shy and NEVER MAKE THE FIRST MOVE!!!

11. The men who never make the first move, automatically lose interest in us when we take the initiative.

NOW.. WHO IN THE WORLD UNDERSTANDS MEN?!?!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Literally laughed myself silly reading it.

So yeah.. Men. Whether you agree or disagree. LoL~

 

Earthling

Wrote this for a friend as we share our devotion. Couldn’t find a suitable title for this post but Earthling sounded just nice. (I think =P)

Earthling – an inhabitant of the earth.

Genesis 1:1-2
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Reading this verse reminded me of how much revelation there is (hard or simple) no matter how many times you have read the bible over and over and over…… =)
I got these things out of the 2 verses:

1- In this passage, it talks about how God created the heavens and the earth. How and when, it did not mention but that simple line tells me that things did not appear just by accident. Call me ignorant but my faith can settle with that. Of course I would like to know how everything was created, but that is something I would ask God personally when I get to heaven along with a billion over questions =)

2- The earth was in three things:-
- formless
- void
- darkness

When you think about it, we are like our planet earth back then. Formless, void and filled with darkness.

- Formless
Formless, shapeless, purposeless… these are words that comes to mind when I think about this word.

Christian or not, at times we find ourselves in the state of nothingness, insignificant, etc etc. What do I mean by that? Looking busy but purposeless in what you do equals fruitless. In fact, one of the meaning of formless is: Having no material existence. no substance. So at times we feel, Existence has no meaning.

We are often bombarded with the stress of the world, worries, anxieties that we are deformed both Spiritually and Physically (emotionally and mentally can be added here).

- Void
Void equals empty, unoccupied, unfilled, ineffective, useless, no legal validity… can you relate to some of the words I mentioned? I know I can. It’s a pathetic feeling.

- Darkness
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

To me, if Darkness was a nation, it would be the loneliest place on earth. Not to mention, SCARY. Funny thing is, it is the most populated.

Well, pondering on the verse…. it ended by saying “And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.”

The SPIRIT of GOD was hovering over the face of the water. To me it meant that the spirit of God was present in darkness,  it was present despite how shapeless you may be, it was present no matter how many times we lay empty before Him.

He is present whether you like it or not. Shutting the door, offing the lights is not going to help. He will be there no matter what.

Reading this reminded me how much God cares. So if you ever feel like how our planet felt like in the beginning, know that God is with you.

The following verse follows with God saying “Let there be light”. Friends, if you are in this state… formless, void, living in darkness… God wants to do something in you right now. Indeed, Let there be light!

P.S. I love my planet, STOP littering. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle please!
